It was an exciting week in the SMAAAHL. There were 13 games played; two of these games ended in a shootout, and three were shutouts. Eight teams managed to score four or more goals against their opponents, keeping up the high-scoring streaks from the beginning of the regular season.
The Moose Jaw Generals are currently leading the league with five wins, a loss, and an overtime loss giving them 11 points. The Battleford Stars are a close second with four wins, a loss, and an overtime loss giving them nine points. Almost half of the teams have at least one loss in overtime meaning that the teams are quite close in skill which should make the rest of the season exciting.
Derrick Budz of the Yorkton RawTec Maulers is currently leading the league with his four goals and five assists earning him nine points. Adam Dawe of the Notre Dame Hounds is a close second with three goals and five assists earning him eight points. Chantz Petruic from the Moose Jaw Generals is leading the league in goals with six, and Turner Ripplinger from the Regina Pat Canadians is leading the league in assists with seven.
The top goalie is currently Colby Entz from the Moose Jaw Generals who has a 0.97 goals against average and a 2-0-1 record. Hunter Arps, also from the Moose Jaw Generals, is a close second with a 1.00 goals against average and a 3-1-0 record.
Remember to keep up to date every week with the scores, top teams, and top players. It is still early in the season, so any team or player can jump to first place at any moment.
