Kootenay Ice vs. Vancouver Northwest Giants

The Giants made the trip to play the Ice, and came away with two (2) wins. In Game 1, The Giants scored six (6) goals thanks to the efforts of Desi Burgart (2), Josh Latta (2), Keegan Jones, and Wilson Northey. Game 2 was a bit closer, but still the same result – Mateo Coltellaro and Carter Stephenson scored for the Giants.
Okanagan Rockets vs. Cariboo Cougars
Game 1: Okanagan 4, Cariboo 2
Game 2: Okanagan 4, Cariboo 4
The Cougars went to Kelowna to take on the Okanagan Rockets, who were ready to put up a fight.
At one point in Game 1, Okanagan led 3-0 thanks to goals from Sam Binfet, Mark Krabben, and Brett Witala. Cariboo’s Wesley Shipton and Mitchell Williams scored to make it close, but Okanagan’s Calvin Rout scored with less than five (5) minutes left in the game to seal the deal.
Game 2 was closely contested, and eventually ended in a 4-4 tie. Brandon Whistle, Tre Doyon, and Binfet (2) scored for Okanagan, while Darren Hards, Alex Hanson, Joel Patsey, and Williams scored for the Cougars.
South Island Royals vs. Fraser Valley Thunderbirds
Game 1: South Island 5, Fraser Valley 6
Game 2: South Island 7, Fraser Valley 4
The Thunderbirds travelled to the Island a day early to face the Royals in a rare Friday game.
Game 1 was back-and-forth, with a total of 11 goals scored. Eventually the Thunderbirds came out on top, thanks to goals from Davin Padgham, Zac McKee, Brice Sharp, Alex Furlan, Brett Clayton, and Nic Ponak. James Scott, Cam Coutre (2), Cam Thompson, and Ben Berard scored for the Royals.
The Royals were able to keep up their offensive attack in Game 2, scoring another seven (7) goals – Tyler Preziuso (3), Tanner Sidaway (2), Kayden Peck, and Berard each got their names in the scoring column. Nate Castonguay, Brett Clayton, and Ponak (2) scored for the T-Birds.
North Island Silvertips vs. Valley West Hawks
Game 1: North Island 3, Valley West 2
Game 2: North Island 5, Valley West 3
Valley West played the ‘Tips in Nanaimo and Comox over the weekend.
North Island was looking to finish their season on a high note, and they did just that thanks to two (2) wins over the Hawks.
In Game 1, Matt O’Dwyer, Trey Watson, and Kyle Topping scored for the ‘Tips, while Jeffrey Stewart and Ben Evanish scored for the Hawks.
In Game 2, the Silvertips scored five (5) goals thanks to the efforts of Dawson Heathcote, Sage Lim, Rick Takeda, and Watson (2). Stewart scored a hat trick to get all three (3) of Valley West’s goals.
Thompson Blazers vs. Vancouver Northeast Chiefs
Game 1: Thompson 3, Vancouver NE 8
Game 2: Thompson 4, Vancouver NE 8
The Chiefs played their last games of the regular season in Kamloops, facing the Blazers.
They brought plenty of offense along with them, scoring eight (8) goals in both of their games.
In Game 1, Caleb Fantillo (2), Devon Stafford, Ronnie Wilkie (2), Harris Pearce, Matthew Davis, and Jeffrey Wong scored for the Chiefs, while Rylan Van Unen, Matthew Facchinelli, and Ryan Ignace scored for the Blazers.
In Game 2, Kyle Johnson (2), Thomas Semple, Parker Colley, San Chung, Pearce, and Fantillo (2) scored for the Chiefs, while Jordan Rea, Tyler Ward (2), and Van Unen scored for the Blazers.
